Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni has commissioned a new meat and beans processing factory in Kisozi, a move expected to boost the country’s agricultural sector. The factory, established by the National Enterprise Corporation (NEC), aims to increase the production and processing of meat and beans, reducing reliance on imports and creating jobs for locals. During the commissioning ceremony, President Museveni emphasized the importance of value addition in the agricultural sector, stating that it is crucial for the country’s economic growth and development. The factory is expected to process over 100 tons of meat and beans per day, with plans to expand its operations in the future. This development is seen as a significant step towards achieving the government’s goal of promoting industrialization and economic transformation. The NEC has been instrumental in supporting the growth of various industries in Uganda, and this new factory is a testament to its efforts. With the commissioning of this factory, the government hopes to increase the country’s export earnings and improve the livelihoods of farmers and other stakeholders in the agricultural sector.
