Shock in Hoima: Two Police Officers Arrested Over Alleged Motorcycle Theft Syndicate

Two police officers from Hoima Central Police Station are in custody after being accused of involvement in a motorcycle theft ring.

Assistant Inspector of Police Semaganda Denis and Police Constable Kamugisha Elias were arrested following the detention of two civilians who allegedly bought stolen bikes from them. One TVS motorcycle was reportedly sold for just UGX 200,000.

This case has shaken public trust because it involves the very people tasked with protecting citizens and their property. The Uganda Police has acted swiftly, showing that no one is above the law a message that brings some comfort during this difficult moment.

For the people of Hoima, this is both disappointing and hopeful. Disappointing because it erodes confidence in the force, but hopeful because it proves that internal accountability is possible. Let us support reforms that strengthen integrity within the police so they can better serve and protect every Ugandan.
