Washington – The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced today that it will integrate a suite of AI‑driven tools into its air traffic control (ATC) system to better manage the nation’s increasingly congested skies. The new platform, developed in partnership with several tech firms, uses machine‑learning algorithms to predict traffic bottlenecks, optimise flight paths, and detect potential safety hazards in real time. Early trials at three major hubs—Atlanta, Chicago O’Hare, and Dallas‑Fort Worth—showed a 15 percent reduction in average flight delays and a 22 percent improvement in conflict detection accuracy. Regulators say the rollout will be phased over the next two years, with full national coverage expected by 2029.
