A sad and messy story out of Wakaliga Zone in Rubaga Division. Forty-three-year-old mechanic Ssebugwawo Mike died early on March 12 after being stabbed in the chest during a fight inside his former girlfriend’s rented room. Police have arrested 32-year-old Nantongo Hadijjah and are holding her at Natete station.
According to investigators, the pair had broken up two months earlier, but Mike showed up around one in the morning after failing to reach her on the phone. He forced his way in, suspecting another man was there, and things turned violent fast. She allegedly grabbed a broken piece of clay plate and that was the end of it.
Domestic fights that spiral this quickly are far too common, and the police are using the case to remind everyone that help exists before anger takes over.
