Tehran – In a televised interview with state broadcaster IRIB, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Ali Bagheri declared that the United States’ “relentless economic pressure” on Tehran is evidence of Washington’s inability to achieve its objectives through military means. Bagheri cited the recent sanctions on Iran’s oil exports, the targeting of its banking sector, and the seizure of Iranian assets abroad, describing them as “the new front line of a war the U.S. cannot win on the battlefield.” He warned that continued economic aggression would only push Iran to deepen ties with non‑Western allies and accelerate its self‑reliance in technology and defense. The remarks come amid ongoing negotiations over the 2015 nuclear agreement and heightened tensions in the Persian Gulf.
