Museveni confirmed that the king succumbed to an aggressive form of cancer after a prolonged battle with the disease. In his tribute, the president highlighted King Oyo’s dedication to cultural preservation, education, and community development, calling him a “pillar of unity” for the Tooro people. The president also expressed condolences to the royal family and urged the nation to honor the late king’s legacy by continuing his work in advancing health awareness and cultural heritage across Uganda.
