Kampala, Uganda – Housing Finance Bank (HFB) announced today that veteran banker Dorothy Namutebi will lead its Mortgages and Consumer Banking division, effective September 1. Namutebi, who previously steered the retail banking unit at Stanbic Bank Uganda, brings more than 20 years of experience in credit risk management, product development, and digital banking. In a statement, HFB CEO James Mugisha praised her “strategic vision and deep understanding of Uganda’s housing market,” noting that the appointment aligns with the bank’s goal to expand affordable mortgage solutions for low‑ and middle‑income families. Namutebi said she aims to accelerate loan processing times, introduce flexible repayment schemes, and leverage fintech partnerships to reach underserved regions. The move follows HFB’s recent capital raise and its ambition to become the leading mortgage lender in East Africa.
