U.S. diplomatic envoys Jonathan Witkoff and Jared Kushner arrived in Kyiv on Tuesday for high‑level discussions with Ukrainian officials, following a brief, behind‑the‑scenes meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow last week. The Moscow encounter, which lasted less than an hour, was described by Kremlin spokespeople as a “constructive dialogue” on regional security. In Kyiv, Witkoff and Kushner met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba to discuss continued military aid, reconstruction funding, and pathways to a negotiated settlement. Both envoys emphasized that the United States remains committed to supporting Ukraine’s sovereignty while encouraging diplomatic channels to de‑escalate tensions.
