A prominent politician from the northern region of Uganda has reportedly been living in constant fear after authorities discovered a large sum of cash concealed on his family’s farm. The cash, believed to be worth several million dollars, was allegedly hidden in a buried metal container near a maize field. While the politician, whose name has been withheld for security reasons, denies any wrongdoing, opposition leaders claim the discovery points to widespread corruption and illicit financing in the region. Police have launched an investigation, and the lawmaker has requested protective custody, citing threats from both political rivals and criminal elements seeking the hidden money.
