The National Lotteries Board (NLB) of Uganda announced its participation in Africa’s inaugural Safer Gambling Week, a continent‑wide campaign aimed at promoting responsible gaming and reducing gambling‑related harm. Throughout the week, NLB will host community workshops, launch an online self‑exclusion portal, and distribute educational materials in schools and workplaces. The initiative, supported by the African Gaming Commission and several NGOs, seeks to raise awareness about problem gambling, encourage safe betting practices, and provide resources for those seeking help.
