The Presidential Leadership Union (PLU), a fast‑growing think‑tank that advises African military and civilian leaders on strategic development, announced today that General Muhoozi Kainerugaba has officially designated Indian entrepreneur Sudhir Patel as the organization’s new Chairperson. The appointment coincides with PLU’s membership milestone of 300 senior officials from 27 African nations.
Speaking at a virtual press conference, General Muhoozi highlighted Patel’s track record in technology, infrastructure, and education, noting that his leadership will “accelerate PLU’s mission to foster collaborative security and economic growth across the continent.”
Patel, who previously served on PLU’s advisory board, said, “I am honored to lead an institution that brings together the brightest minds from Africa. Together, we will harness innovation, strengthen regional cooperation, and ensure that our policies are inclusive and forward‑looking.”
The PLU board also unveiled a new strategic plan focusing on digital transformation, renewable energy, and youth empowerment, with Patel expected to spearhead the rollout of a continent‑wide mentorship program for emerging leaders.
