NSSF Assets Rise to Shs 32.8 trillion as Income Hits Shs 6.51 trillion

The National Social Security Fund (NSSF) announced a robust financial performance for the fiscal year ending June 2024, with total assets climbing to Shs 32.8 trillion, a 12% increase from the previous year. Net income surged to Shs 6.51 trillion, driven by higher contributions from the formal sector and strong returns on its diversified investment portfolio, which includes equities, government bonds, and real‑estate assets. The fund’s chief executive, Grace Nanyanzi, highlighted that the growth reflects both improved compliance among employers and strategic asset allocation. “Our focus on sustainable, long‑term investments is paying off, ensuring that we can meet the retirement needs of our members while maintaining fiscal stability,” she said. The NSSF also disclosed plans to expand its digital services, aiming to streamline contributions and payouts for its 12 million members across the country.
