The Ndere Cultural Centre announced a partnership with the Ministry of Education to introduce a digitisation program that will embed Uganda’s cultural heritage into the primary school curriculum. The project, funded by a UGX 30 billion grant from the African Development Bank, will equip 500 schools with tablets pre‑loaded with interactive lessons on traditional music, dance, folklore, and language. Students will also contribute to a growing online archive by recording oral histories from elders in their communities. Centre director Sarah Kintu highlighted that the initiative aims to safeguard intangible cultural assets for future generations while fostering pride among young Ugandans. The first batch of schools is set to receive equipment in January 2027.
