Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior announced on Tuesday that intelligence services had intercepted a plot by Yemen’s Houthi rebels to launch a missile attack targeting the capital, Riyadh. According to the statement, the operation was thwarted before any projectile could be launched, thanks to “real‑time monitoring and rapid response” by Saudi air defense units. The ministry warned that the Houthis “continue to threaten the safety of Saudi citizens and the stability of the region.” In response, the Saudi government has pledged to increase its defensive measures along the southern border and is coordinating with coalition partners to intensify pressure on the Houthi leadership.
