The Uganda Packaging and Printing Company (UPPC) announced today that it has successfully obtained ISO 9001:2015 certification, confirming that its quality‑management systems meet globally recognised standards. The achievement follows a year‑long internal audit and external assessment by the British Standards Institution. “This certification validates our commitment to consistent product quality and continuous improvement,” said Managing Director Samuel Kato at a press briefing. UPPC plans to leverage the credential to expand exports to East African neighbours and the European Union, targeting a 25 % increase in overseas sales by 2027. The company also highlighted upcoming investments in eco‑friendly inks and biodegradable packaging, aligning its growth strategy with sustainability goals.
