The Uganda Plastic Products Company (UPPC) announced today that it has achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification for its quality management system, becoming the first local manufacturer in the sector to meet the global standard. The certification covers the company’s entire production line, from raw‑material sourcing to finished‑goods distribution. Managing Director Samuel Kato said the milestone “validates our commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement” and positions UPPC to export high‑grade polymer products to East African and European markets. The company plans to invest $12 million in new molding technology and to launch a training program for staff on international compliance requirements.
