The Uganda Public Procurement Commission (UPPC) announced today that it has achieved ISO 9001:2015 certification for its quality management systems, becoming the first African procurement agency to meet the rigorous international standard. The certification, awarded by the British Standards Institution, validates the commission’s commitment to transparency, efficiency, and stakeholder satisfaction. UPPC Director General Samuel Kintu said the milestone “opens doors to cross‑border procurement collaborations and positions Uganda as a reliable partner for multinational investors.” The agency plans to launch a pilot e‑procurement platform targeting East African markets by the end of 2027.
