Kampala – Veteran opposition leader Dr. Kizza Besigye and Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago were forced to cancel a scheduled meeting with Sudanese General Abdel Fattah al‑Saleh after both reported severe flu‑like symptoms. Sources close to the two politicians said they are receiving treatment at Mulago Hospital and have been advised to rest for at least a week. The meeting, originally intended to discuss regional security cooperation and trade, has been postponed, raising concerns among analysts that the delay could stall ongoing diplomatic talks aimed at stabilising the volatile border regions between Uganda and South Sudan.
