Government Launches Strict Inspection Regime for PDM, Emyooga and Cattle Restocking in Teso and Lango

The Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries announced a comprehensive inspection drive targeting the Private Development Model (PDM), the Emyooga agricultural program, and cattle restocking initiatives in the Teso and Lango regions. The move follows allegations of misappropriation of funds and sub‑standard livestock deliveries. Inspectors will assess compliance with procurement guidelines, verify the health status of restocked cattle, and audit financial records of NGOs and private partners involved. Minister of Agriculture Frank Tumwine emphasized that the inspections aim to protect farmer livelihoods and ensure that donor resources reach intended beneficiaries. The government has pledged to sanction any entity found guilty of fraud or negligence.
