Addis Ababa – The Pan‑African University (PAU) announced on Wednesday that Michael Ochan will serve as Acting Executive Director, succeeding Ernest Rubondo who is retiring after a decade of service. Ochan, a veteran administrator with more than 20 years in higher‑education management across East Africa, will assume the role on an interim basis while a global search for a permanent director is conducted. In his farewell address, Rubondo highlighted the university’s expansion of satellite campuses and the launch of new research institutes focused on renewable energy and public health. “I am confident that Michael will steer PAU through this transitional period and continue our mission of fostering African excellence in education,” said Rubondo. The PAU Board of Governors praised both leaders for their contributions to the institution’s growth.
