The Ruparelia Group, one of Uganda’s largest conglomerates, has been confirmed as a principal sponsor of India Day 2026, an event marking the 70th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Uganda and India. The sponsorship, valued at $2 million, will support cultural performances, business forums, and a scholarship program for Ugandan students to study in India. Chairman Sudhir Ruparelia said the partnership reflects “our commitment to strengthening bilateral trade, technology exchange, and cultural understanding.” The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expects the event, scheduled for March 15 in Kampala, to attract over 10,000 attendees and generate new investment opportunities in sectors ranging from renewable energy to information technology.
