UDB Report Shows Shs6.26 Trillion Economic Output and Over 69,000 Jobs From Financed Enterprises in 2025

The Uganda Development Bank (UDB) released its annual impact report, revealing that enterprises financed by the bank generated an estimated Shs6.26 trillion in economic output in 2025. The report also highlighted that more than 69,000 jobs were created across sectors ranging from agribusiness to renewable energy. UDB’s Chief Executive Officer, Sarah Nansubuga, credited the bank’s targeted credit lines and capacity‑building programs for the surge, noting that small‑ and medium‑sized enterprises (SMEs) accounted for 78 % of the new employment. The findings are expected to bolster the government’s push for inclusive growth and attract further private‑sector investment into the country’s emerging industries.
