The National Lotteries Board (NLB) of Uganda has signed on to Africa’s inaugural Safer Gambling Week, a continent‑wide effort to promote responsible betting practices. Throughout the week, NLB will host community workshops, distribute educational materials, and roll out a new self‑exclusion portal for players who wish to limit their gambling activity. NLB Chairperson, Grace Kintu, emphasized that the initiative aligns with the board’s mission to protect vulnerable groups while maintaining a vibrant gaming sector. The campaign, coordinated by the African Gaming Commission, will also feature a social media drive using the hashtag #PlaySafeAfrica.
