Judge Orders Fox to Hand Over Hundreds of Documents in Shareholders’ Case

A federal judge in New York has ruled that Fox Corporation must produce over 500 internal documents related to its 2022 acquisition of a digital media startup, after shareholders filed a class‑action lawsuit alleging breach of fiduciary duty. The court found that the documents, which include board meeting minutes, due‑diligence reports, and communications with the target’s executives, are “highly relevant” to determining whether the deal was conducted at fair market value. Fox’s legal team has appealed the order, arguing that certain materials are protected by attorney‑client privilege. The case is expected to proceed to trial later this year.
