The Uganda Power and Procurement Corporation (UPPC) announced today that it has successfully obtained ISO 9001:2015 certification, confirming compliance with globally recognized quality‑management standards. The certification, granted by the International Register of Certified Auditors (IRCA), follows a rigorous twelve‑month audit that examined UPPC’s procurement processes, project delivery, and customer‑service protocols. “Achieving ISO 9001 is a testament to our dedication to operational excellence and transparency,” said UPPC Managing Director Samuel Kato. The board outlined a strategic plan to leverage the certification as a springboard for expanding into East African and European markets, targeting joint ventures in renewable‑energy infrastructure and cross‑border logistics. Analysts predict the move could boost UPPC’s annual revenue by up to 15 % within three years.
