Miami – Preliminary analysis of the flight data recorder from the cargo aircraft that crashed shortly after attempting to land at Miami International Airport on Wednesday shows that the pilots initiated an abort maneuver due to an unsteady approach. The Boeing 737‑800F, operating a night-time freight run from Panama, encountered severe crosswinds and a sudden loss of runway visual cues. At 02:14 a.m., the crew pulled back on the throttles and attempted a go‑around, but the aircraft’s left wing struck the runway’s safety area, leading to a loss of control and a subsequent crash into a nearby warehouse. All three crew members perished. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has opened a full investigation, focusing on weather conditions, pilot training, and possible mechanical issues with the aircraft’s autopilot system.
