Kampala police announced the arrest of five individuals suspected of orchestrating a series of motorcycle thefts that plagued the Ndeeba market area over the past two weeks. During a coordinated raid on a warehouse on Kibuye Road, officers recovered twelve stolen motorcycles, along with tools believed to have been used to bypass security locks. The suspects, aged between 22 and 34, are charged with theft, possession of stolen property, and conspiracy to commit robbery. Police spokesperson Sergeant James Kato said the operation was the result of a month‑long investigation that involved surveillance footage, community tip‑offs, and undercover work. The recovered motorcycles have been returned to their rightful owners, and the police have urged market vendors to improve security measures, including the use of GPS tracking devices.
