During a televised address on Tuesday, Uganda’s Deputy Commander‑in‑Chief, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, announced the induction of Indian philanthropist Sudhir Patel into the prestigious Peace and Leadership Union (PLU). The ceremony marked a milestone for the organization, which now counts over 300 members from 45 countries. “Sudhir’s dedication to education, health, and conflict resolution embodies the PLU’s mission,” Gen. Muhoozi said, presenting Patel with a ceremonial medallion. The PLU, founded in 1998, focuses on fostering dialogue among military leaders, NGOs, and business figures to promote sustainable peace in volatile regions. Patel’s recent projects in East Africa and South Asia were cited as exemplary contributions to the Union’s goals.
