Pakistani forces kill 24 militants in border raids near Afghanistan

Pakistani security forces have killed 24 militants in a series of raids along the border with Afghanistan, according to a statement released by the military. The raids, which were carried out in the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, targeted militant groups that have been accused of carrying out attacks on Pakistani soil. The statement said that the militants were affiliated with the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and the Jamaat-ul-Ahrar (JuA) groups, which have been responsible for numerous attacks on civilians and security personnel in recent years. The raids are part of a broader effort by the Pakistani military to crack down on militant groups in the region, which has been plagued by violence and instability for over a decade. The military has launched several operations in recent years to clear out militant strongholds and secure the border with Afghanistan, where many militant groups are based. The latest raids are a significant blow to the militant groups, which have been seeking to regroup and launch new attacks in the region.
