Nairobi – Stanbic Bank Kenya announced a major expansion of its unsecured loan portfolio on Monday, rolling out a refreshed “Oli in Charge” marketing campaign aimed at households and small‑to‑medium enterprises (SMEs). The new initiative, which features a series of radio, TV, and digital ads, emphasizes speed, flexibility, and minimal documentation. Under the program, eligible customers can access personal loans up to KES 500,000 and business loans up to KES 2 million with approval times as short as 24 hours. Bank officials said the campaign is a response to rising demand for quick credit amid inflationary pressures and supply‑chain disruptions. “We want to empower families to meet education, health and home‑improvement needs, while giving entrepreneurs the capital they need to grow,” said Stanbic’s Head of Retail Banking, Grace Mwangi. The bank also introduced a mobile‑first application that uses AI‑driven credit scoring to streamline the underwriting process.
