The palace clarified that circulating rumors of the king’s death are unfounded. According to the royal medical team, the king was admitted to a private hospital in Kampala after experiencing severe respiratory distress. Family members and senior officials have been urged to respect the king’s privacy while he receives treatment. The Tooro Kingdom, one of Uganda’s historic monarchies, has asked the public to refrain from speculation until an official update is released.
The statement also warned that any misinformation could cause unnecessary panic among the kingdom’s subjects, who hold the monarch in high regard. A spokesperson for the palace said that a formal announcement regarding the king’s health status will be made once the situation stabilizes.
