Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs, Ali Bagheri, told a press conference in Tehran that the United States’ increasing reliance on sanctions and “economic warfare” is evidence that Washington has been unable to achieve its military objectives against Iran. Bagheri highlighted recent U.S. sanctions targeting Iran’s oil exports, banking sector, and technology imports, describing them as “a sign of desperation.” He added that Iran’s resilience in the face of these measures demonstrates the failure of the U.S. strategy and reaffirmed Tehran’s commitment to pursuing its nuclear and regional policies. The remarks come amid heightened tensions over Iran’s missile tests and ongoing negotiations over the 2015 nuclear deal.
