Kathmandu, Nepal – In the wake of the catastrophic monsoon floods that have swept through Nepal’s Terai region, Ugandan billionaire Sudhir Ruparelia issued a heartfelt statement of support and announced a $2 million emergency relief package. The funds, to be channeled through the Ruparelia Foundation, will provide immediate assistance for displaced families, including food, clean water, temporary shelters, and medical supplies. “Our thoughts are with the resilient people of Nepal. We stand with you in this time of need and will do everything we can to help rebuild lives,” Ruparelia said in a video message broadcast on local Nepali television. The foundation is also coordinating with the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) and local NGOs to ensure the aid reaches the most affected districts of Siraha, Dhanusha, and Mahottari. The gesture has been praised by Nepalese officials as a testament to the growing spirit of regional solidarity in South Asia.
