UDB Report Shows Shs6.26 Trillion Economic Output and Over 69,000 Jobs from Financed Enterprises by 2025

The Uganda Development Bank (UDB) released its latest performance review, projecting that enterprises financed through its credit lines will generate an estimated Shs6.26 trillion in economic output by 2025. The report highlights that more than 69,000 jobs will be created across sectors such as agribusiness, manufacturing, and renewable energy. UDB attributes the growth to its revised risk‑sharing model, increased loan disbursement to SMEs, and partnerships with development agencies. The bank also outlines a roadmap for scaling digital finance solutions to reach underserved regions, aiming to boost inclusive growth and reduce unemployment rates in the country.
