Uganda’s Vice President Jessica Alupo touched down at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport on Monday, marking the start of a week‑long diplomatic tour preceding the 18th BRICS Summit in Hyderabad. Alupo is scheduled to meet with Indian Minister of External Affairs Dr. S. Jaishankar to discuss trade facilitation, renewable energy projects, and agricultural technology exchanges. The visit also includes a stop in Bengaluru for a round‑table with Ugandan diaspora entrepreneurs. “Our participation underscores Uganda’s commitment to deepening ties with BRICS partners and advancing shared goals of economic diversification and climate resilience,” Alupo said in a press briefing.
