Kampala – Global ticketing giant Ticketmaster announced a strategic partnership with local event‑ticket platform Quicket on Wednesday, marking the first major step in Ticketmaster’s expansion across East Africa. The collaboration will integrate Ticketmaster’s technology stack, payment gateway, and customer support infrastructure with Quicket’s on‑the‑ground network of venues, promoters, and artists in Uganda. Together, the firms aim to streamline ticket sales for concerts, sports events, and cultural festivals, offering real‑time seat selection, mobile e‑tickets, and anti‑scalping measures. “Our goal is to bring world‑class ticketing experiences to Ugandan fans while supporting local talent,” said Ticketmaster’s Regional Director for Africa, Aisha Ndlovu. The partnership also includes a joint marketing fund to promote upcoming events and a training program for Quicket staff on data analytics and fraud prevention. The first joint venture will be the upcoming Kampala International Music Festival slated for November 2026.
