The Ndere Cultural Centre, in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Culture, unveiled a pioneering digitisation programme aimed at integrating Uganda’s rich cultural heritage into the primary school curriculum. Starting this term, over 150 schools across the country will receive tablets pre‑loaded with interactive modules on traditional music, dance, folklore and language. The project, funded by a UGX 150 million grant from the African Development Bank, also includes training for teachers on using the digital resources. Centre director Sarah Nanyanzi explained that the initiative seeks to safeguard intangible heritage threatened by urbanisation and to inspire a new generation of Ugandans to take pride in their roots.
