Speaking at a high‑level gathering at the Speke Resort in Munyonyo, Finance Minister Dr. Matia Kasaija delivered a stern warning to all accounting officers across government ministries and agencies. He emphasized that any form of corruption, misallocation of funds, or budgetary abuse would be met with swift disciplinary measures, including possible dismissal and prosecution. The minister highlighted recent audit findings that revealed irregularities in procurement processes and urged officers to adhere strictly to the Public Finance Management Act. He also announced the rollout of a new digital monitoring system aimed at enhancing transparency and real‑time tracking of public expenditures.
