Lawmakers allege that the original concession agreement was signed without proper due diligence, leading to inflated construction costs and underperformance by the private contractor. The committee has summoned the Ministry of Works and Transport, the toll operator, and independent auditors to appear before a special hearing next week. Should the probe confirm malpractice, parliamentarians have pledged to pursue legal action and recover the funds for the treasury.
