Government Launches Strict Inspection of PDM, Emyooga and Cattle Restocking Programs in Teso and Lango Regions

The Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries announced a comprehensive inspection drive targeting the Pilot Development Model (PDM), the Emyooga agricultural initiative, and recent cattle restocking efforts across the Teso and Lango districts. Officials cited concerns over misallocation of resources, irregularities in beneficiary selection, and potential fraud. Over 150 inspection teams have been deployed, equipped with biometric verification tools to cross‑check farmer registrations and livestock tracking systems. The ministry warned that any entities found guilty of corruption will face sanctions, including revocation of funding and legal prosecution. Community leaders welcomed the move, hoping it will restore confidence in the programs that aim to boost food security and income for smallholder farmers.
