Northern Uganda Lawmaker Lives in Fear After Stashing Cash on Remote Farm

A senior politician from the northern region of Uganda has reportedly been living under constant threat after concealing a large sum of money on his family’s remote farm. Sources close to the official say the cash, believed to be the proceeds of undisclosed business dealings, was hidden in a buried container near the farm’s irrigation system. The farmer‑politician, who has asked to remain anonymous for safety reasons, claims he fears retaliation from rival factions and local militia groups who have been known to target individuals suspected of hoarding wealth. Security experts warn that the practice of hiding cash in rural areas is becoming more common as political instability rises, and they urge authorities to investigate the matter to prevent potential violence and corruption.
