The Speke Group announced today the acquisition of twelve state‑of‑the‑art speed boats that will ferry guests to the newly‑developed Paradise Island resort in the Caribbean. The vessels, built by a Dutch marine engineering firm, can travel up to 45 knots and feature eco‑friendly diesel‑hybrid engines to reduce emissions. Speke’s CEO, Marissa Delgado, said the fleet will cut travel time from the mainland port from 90 minutes to just 30, enhancing the luxury experience for tourists. The resort, slated to open in December, will offer over‑water bungalows, a marine wildlife sanctuary, and a series of water‑sports activities. Local officials praised the investment, noting the expected boost to employment and the region’s tourism revenue.
