Roko Construction Faces Court‑Ordered Auction of Prime Property Amid Financial Strain

Kampala – A High Court in Kampala has approved the auction of a 5‑acre commercial site owned by Roko Construction Ltd., citing the company’s failure to meet loan repayments to the Uganda Development Bank. The property, located in the bustling Nakasero district, is expected to fetch an estimated Shs150 million at auction. Roko Construction, a major player in the country’s infrastructure sector, has been grappling with cash‑flow issues after several delayed government contracts. The company’s CEO, John Kintu, warned that the auction could jeopardize ongoing projects, including the new Kampala‑Entebbe expressway segment.
