Nairobi – Stanbic Bank has launched a new phase of its “Oli in Charge” financial inclusion drive, rolling out a suite of unsecured loan products aimed at households and small‑to‑medium enterprises (SMEs). The campaign, rebranded with fresh graphics and a mobile‑first application process, promises approvals within 24 hours for loan amounts up to $15,000, with flexible repayment terms up to 36 months. Bank officials say the move responds to growing demand for quick credit among consumers who lack collateral but have steady cash flows. The initiative also includes financial‑literacy workshops in urban and peri‑urban areas, partnering with local NGOs to educate borrowers on budgeting and debt management. Early pilot data from Kenya and Uganda show a 27 % increase in loan uptake among first‑time borrowers, and Stanbic expects the program to reach over 500,000 new customers by the end of 2027.
