Hoima, Bunyoro – Housing Finance Bank (HFB) launched a community‑focused outreach program this week aimed at expanding financial inclusion across the Bunyoro region. The bank held town‑hall meetings in Hoima town, inviting small‑scale farmers, traders, and youth entrepreneurs to discuss tailored mortgage and loan products. HFB’s regional manager, Sarah Nanyanzi, announced a new “Bunyoro Growth Fund” that will provide low‑interest loans to women‑owned businesses and agricultural cooperatives. The initiative also includes financial literacy workshops and mobile‑banking training to bridge the digital divide. Local leaders praised the effort, noting that increased access to credit could spur infrastructure development, improve housing standards, and reduce poverty in the historically underserved area.
