The Uganda Power and Petroleum Corporation (UPPC) received ISO 9001:2015 certification after a rigorous audit by an accredited body, confirming that its quality management system meets global standards. The certification covers the corporation’s procurement, logistics, and customer‑service processes, and is expected to boost confidence among foreign investors. Managing Director Samuel Kato explained that the achievement is a “gateway” to expanding UPPC’s export of refined petroleum products to neighboring East African nations. The company plans to launch a pilot program next quarter that will streamline cross‑border fuel deliveries, leveraging the new quality framework to meet international compliance requirements.
